Tom Nemat

Chief Executive Officer

Tom Nemat is the founder at OceanRock Recovery. In addition, Tom is a Co-CEO of Beginnings who provides inpatient and outpatient services to individuals and families suffering from substance abuse and mental health issues. Tom was the founding CEO of a company and helped grow the company from Startup to a 100-employee multi-location, multi-million revenue company from 2015 to 2019. Tom is currently in a Co-CEO role within the company as well as a Shareholder and member of the Board of Directors. Tom is the founder and practicing attorney at the Law Firm of Tom Nemat. Tom advises clients on estate planning, trust administration, probate, and asset protection in his law practice. Tom has been practicing law for over 10 years and has been repeatedly named a Rising Star in Southern California by Super Lawyer Magazine, a highly respected honor that only 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40 receive.

Before practicing law and pursuing entrepreneurship, Tom earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles with an emphasis on corporate law. Before law school, Tom graduated from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. 

At Berkeley, Tom was involved in several consulting and entrepreneurial activities in conjunction with his business courses, including Technology Entrepreneurship and Strategic Planning/Consulting.

Chris Cox

Chief Operating Officer

Chris Cox is the Chief Operating Officer COO for OceanRock Recovery. He is a results-driven executive with a demonstrated history of building and sustaining healthy, stable businesses. Skilled in leadership coaching, business development, financial planning/analysis and operational excellence. Chris is passionate about teams, recovery and helping others become the best version of themselves. He is the proud father of three kids and enjoys spending time with them and his wife. Originally from Texas, he left for California in 1993 and never looked back. Self-proclaimed best dominoes player ever. He enjoys long hikes, all-things-history, sports and coaching football where he volunteers after work at Newport Harbor High School.

Dr. Tucker

Medical Director

Lawrence V. Tucker, M.D. is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine, practicing in pharmacological management of psychiatric disorders and addiction medicine. Dr. Tucker attended UCLA for his undergraduate degree, where he obtained a B.S. in Physiological Sciences. He then attended UCLA School of Medicine for his Medical Degree and stayed at UCLA for his residency in Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Tucker feels most accomplished with his blended family of 5 children and his wife. Dr. Tucker has had extensive experience within the county of Los Angeles department of mental health and jail systems, State mental health systems and the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, as well in the Federal Veterans Administration Medical Center, where he established the first suboxone clinic within the VA system nationwide. In addition, Dr. Tucker has a private practice in Newport Beach CA.

His paradigm of treatment is that he: “Treats a person Not a Diagnosis”. He uses a holistic model and incorporates sobriety, exercise, diet, therapy, supplements, as well as psychopharmacological therapies. He is a nationally recognized speaker regarding the treatment of dual diagnosis.

Allyson is from Tustin, California. She is our Clinical Director. Allyson went to Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California for her Undergraduate & her Masters. She got her degree in Sociology and her Masters in Clinical Psychology. She has been working in this field for 6 years now. Allyson says she is passionate about helping people overcome their own personal trauma and to help them on the path to healing and recovery to help find who they really are. She is inspired by the quote by Carl Jung that says “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

Tania Acevedo

LPCC

Tania Acevedo, LPCC, is a seasoned Therapist and Clinical Director with nearly a decade of experience in evidence-based treatment of substance use, trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief. She has led programs enabling clientele from various socio-economic backgrounds to achieve stabilization, recovery, and rehabilitation. Tania earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Redlands, and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California Baptist University. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor #6034 with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Taryn Mangan

CADC

Taryn Mangan is a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor who specializes in individual empowerment, family systems and relapse prevention. Taryn takes an experiential approach to all therapeutic services that she provides. She educates her clients on sustaining healthy boundaries, identifying patterns of codependency, establishing practical coping skills, and breaking cycles of addiction to integrate back into everyday life. Through her own personal experiences, she has discovered the value of generational healing and the impact that one life saved can have on a community. Taryn believes that increasing an individual’s self-worth and supporting them through their own healing journey is what she was called to do. Outside of her role at work she is a certified cat mom with a love of all things Hogwarts.

Tommy Nunnelle

CATC

Tommy works a group facilitator for Ocean Rock Recovery. He is certified in the state of California with the Association for Alcohol & Drug Educators (CAADE) CATC I. Tommy uses his knowledge to better serve the community seeking treatment and help guide them through the process of recovery. “My goal is to help the client feel safe and understood so that they may be comfortable growing into themselves again from a healthy place.”

Elizabeth Irving

Elizabeth believes it is her calling and passion to offer a supportive, safe space to venture into psyche. Through a collaborative process, her goal is to cultivate hope, meaning, and transformation as she explores the deeper narratives of her clients life. She believes that it is not uncommon for our unconscious patterns of behavior to limit or sabotage reaching our highest potential. Elizabeth’s hope that you will awaken to a more authentic sense of self and learn a felt sense of safety as you engage in life with new perspective and deeper meaning. Her therapeutic style is warm, accepting, and supportive.

Nelda is a Sound Healer, Yoga Instructor, and Reiki Master. She is certified in Jyotisha. She has a Master degree in linguistics. Nelda has a passion for connecting with people on a spiritual level and helping them find their purpose. Nelda has decades of experience helping people in recovery through a variety of modaltities.

Originally from Wisconsin, Katie moved here in February 2020. She has been personally affected by addiction and has made it her mission to help others find a better way to live. Katie has a passion for helping others overcome the disease of addiction and helping others see how much more beautiful life can be without drugs and alcohol.

Camille is originally from Whitehouse, Texas but now resides in Irvine, California. She has been working in substance abuse for the past 6 years. Camille states “I am extremely passionate about working in this field because I was a very low bottom addict myself, and if I can get sober – anyone can. Seeing the light come on in someone’s eyes and families get put back together, is priceless. Camille enjoys spending time with her family, which usually involves food and football. She also loves spending time
with her precious boxers, Harley and Kobe.

Audra Hanson

Content Creator

Audra is a content creator and business development strategist living in Los Angeles, CA. Aside from her career ventures, Audra is an advocate for de-stigmatizing addiction and mental health struggles. She is in recovery herself from alcoholism and volunteers alongside several organizations to assist in solving these issues.
